The MPWC is now recruiting for two positions: Plant Operator & Field Service Technician.
Plant Operators are responsible for the monitoring and documentation of all water treatment plant operations, receiving and processing of emergency requests, and the maintenance of the facility. Plant Operators also accept and process customer calls / complaints and must possess the necessary interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and respond effectively. Additionally, Plant Operators will gain specialized and technical knowledge regarding the operation and functionality of all treatment plants within the system.
Plant Operators are scheduled to work 40 hours within a rotational, 12-hour shift. This includes weekends and holidays. Shifts are comprised of 6:00 AM-6:00 PM or 6:00 PM-6:00 AM, with an additional rotating 4-hour shift.
Field Service Technicians (FSTs) are expected to perform operational functions across all field disciplines for the MPWC. This includes, but is not limited to: meter reading, meter replacement, water treatment plant inspection/maintenance, underground distribution system repair, plant operations and related administrative duties, effective oral and written communications skills.
